Ugandan actors are in for a treat this January as the iconic Nollywood actress, director, and producer Stella Damasus will be leading 4 days Actors’ Workshops in Uganda, scheduled from January 13th to 16th, 2025.
These exclusive events are set to provide invaluable insights and hands-on training for actors aiming to enhance their craft and pursue opportunities in the film industry.

Stella Damasus is a celebrated figure in African cinema, with over 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry. With more than 70 films to her name, Stella is widely regarded as one of Nollywood’s leading actresses and has garnered numerous awards for her exceptional performances. Beyond acting, she is also a respected director and producer, and an advocate for the advancement of African arts on the global stage.
In addition to her acting career, Stella is the Founder of An Actors Playhouse, a platform dedicated to training and nurturing talent across Africa and beyond. Through An Actors Playhouse, she hosts talent showcases that connect her students with some of Nollywood’s top casting directors, producers, and managers.

This is where Valentino R Kabenge, Founding director of ValRich Arts and a member of An Actors Playhouse had the opportunity to perform in Nigeria earlier this year. The showcase was attended by Nollywood heavyweights such as Kate Henshaw and Shaffy Bello.
Organized by ValRich Arts and supported by the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC), the workshops will be held with the goal of mentoring, coaching, and empowering actors to improve their preparation for roles, auditions, overall performance and sustaining their careers. The events also aim to foster stronger collaborations between Uganda’s burgeoning film industry and Nollywood, one of Africa’s most recognized and successful film sectors.
